Why is my Google Drive link appearing as an attachment in Gmail?

When you send a test campaign with a Google Drive link, you might notice that the link appears as an attachment in Gmail. This is a Gmail feature, not a Mailmeteor issue.

Gmail automatically displays Google Drive links as attachments for convenience, but it’s not a real attachment. This behavior only occurs in Gmail (web and mobile apps).

How to prevent this? Unfortunately, Mailmeteor doesn’t have a direct setting to control this Gmail behavior. However, you can use a redirection service to mask the Google Drive link. This will prevent Gmail from recognizing it as a Google Drive link and displaying it as an attachment.

We recommend using a redirection service like TinyURL or bit.ly. Both have a free plan.
