Privacy and security are of utmost importance to Mailmeteor and we strive to ensure that our technical and organisational measures in place respect your data protection rights.
This Privacy Policy describes how we manage, process and store Personal Data submitted in the context of providing our Service. “Personal Data” refers to any information relating to an identifiable individual or his or her personal identity.
OVERVIEW
In subscribing to our Service or filling in a contact form on our website (mailmeteor.com) or other sites owned by Mailmeteor, you agree and accept that we may gather, process, store and/or use the Personal Data submitted in accordance with the rules set forth below.
Personal Data is collected on our website by "Us", Mailmeteor SAS, a company registered under the laws of France, and having its main office at 43 boulevard Auguste Blanqui, 75013 Paris, France.
YOUR PERSONAL DATA
1. Data collected about you
When you sign up to the Service, we collect your email address. That’s just so you can personalize your new account, and we can send you invoices, updates, or other essential information. We’ll never sell your personal info to third parties.
When you pay for the Service, we ask for your first name, last name, VAT number (where applicable), postal address, country, as well as your credit card details. That’s so we can charge you for service and send you invoices. Your credit card is passed directly to our payment processor and doesn’t ever go through our servers.
When you write to the support of the Service with a question or to ask for help, we’ll keep that correspondence, and the email address, for future reference. We also store any information you volunteer, like surveys, for as long as we need.
By using our Service, we may automatically collect information about your computer hardware and software (including your IP address, browser type, domain names, geolocation data or access times). We do so only for analytics purpose (see also the paragraph on cookies below).
By using the Service, you might share with us or we might collect third party data (including third party Personal Data) included in your mailing list. We process this data in acccordance with the paragraph "Third party data" below.

We use the Personal Data submitted to us only in accordance with the applicable data protection legislation. For our clients who have signed up on our website, we processes your Personal Data for the performance of the contract between us to provide our Service. For our newsletter, use case studies, testimonials and other marketing materials, we process your Personal Data based on the express consent you provide for this specific purpose.
3. Disclosures
Personal Data relating to you collected on our website and/or applications are destined for Mailmeteor’s own use and will not be forwarded to third parties, except Mailmeteor’s partners in order to obtain assistance and/or support in the context of carrying out the Service.
Mailmeteor use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
4. Your rights
Depending on your location and subject to applicable law, you may have a right of access, correction and removal of your personal data which you may exercise by sending us an email. Your requests will be processed within 30 days. We may require that your request be accompanied by a photocopy of proof of identity or authority. You are also able at any time to modify your Personal Data by logging into your account and clicking on “User Settings”.
THIRD PARTY DATA
In the context of using our Service, namely sending email campaigns, you might share with us information contained in your mailing lists (such as: recipient's email addresses, recipients' names, etc.), as well as the subject and content of the emails sent out via the Service (including attachments and/or images). In order to provide the Service, we store this data in your account.
As creator of the mailing lists and associated email campaigns, you are considered the data controller within the meaning of the GDPR, and Mailmeteor is acting only as a data processor. In this capacity, you are responsible in particular for:
- obtaining the explicit consent of the persons concerned when collecting their Personal Data.
- making all the declarations necessary to the relative data protection authority.
- complying with all current regulations in force, including the data protection laws.
- ensuring your authority to use the Personal Data collected in accordance with the defined end purposes and refraining from any unauthorised use.
In no case does Mailmeteor sell, share or rent out any of this information to third parties, nor does it use them for any purposes other than those set forth in this policy. We might have a limited access to this data only for technical requirements and for the purposes of providing you with customer support.
If you are not a customer of Mailmeteor but have received an email sent out via Mailmeteor, you have a right of access, correction and/or removal of your Personal Data. You can do so by sending us an email. We will honor that request within 30 days after proper verification and will inform you as well as the User that sent this email via our Service.
DATA RETENTION
Mailmeteor collects data for the requirements of carrying out its contractual obligations as well as information about how and when you use our Service and we retain this data in active databases, log files or other types of files so long as you use our Service. We store this data in accordance with the following data retention policy:
- Events linked to your emails (such as "opens" or "clicks") are saved for 30 days.
- Emails (including recipients' email addresses) are kept 90 days after being sent.
- Campaigns (including aggregate metrics) are conserved for 180 days.
- Templates (including attachments) are stored up until your close your account.
We might retain some data for longer period in order to comply with our legal and regulatory obligations, including but not limited to tax, accounting, and/or financial reporting obligations. In all cases where we keep data, we do so in accordance with any limitation periods and records retention obligations that are imposed by applicable law.
DATA DELETION
Mailmeteor ensures that all users are able to delete their accounts on demand. This includes the deletion of related data. Users can ask to delete your account right from the dashboard or by contacting us. Our marketing communication might continue for a few days after the request.
We may perform spot checks in the event of a request for erasure. This is in order to verify the authenticity of the request, the possible impacts on our system and/or in order to meet legal requirements. In the event that these checks take more than 24 hours, we will inform you by email.
COOKIES
As a general rule, Mailmeteor uses cookies and tracking to improve and personalise its Website and/or measure its audience. Cookies are files saved on your computer’s hard drive when browsing on the Internet and in particular on our site. A cookie is not used to gather your Personal Data without your knowledge but instead to record information on site browsing which can be read directly by Mailmeteor on your subsequent visits and searches on the site.
You can choose to decline acceptance of all cookies, but your ability to browse certain pages of the site may be reduced. The cookies used by Mailmeteor are intended to enable or facilitate communication, to enable the Service requested by users to be supplied, to recognise users when they re-visit the site, to secure payments which users may make, to register the language spoken by users or other preferences necessary for the service requested to be supplied.
Mailmeteor also uses analytics and tracking tools to measure website and digital data to gain customer insights, to carry out analyses on browsing experience so as to improve content, and to send targeted advertisements.

In accordance with the regulations that apply, Mailmeteor will require your authorisation before implanting any other kind of cookie on your hard drive. We are a global business. Personal Data may be stored and processed in any country where we do business or our service providers do business. Mailmeteor reserves the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time, in particular pursuant to any changes made to the laws and regulations in force. Any modifications made will be notified to you via our Website or by email, to the extent possible, thirty (30) days at least before any changes come into force. We would recommend that you check these rules from time to time to stay informed of our procedures and rules relating to your personal information.
