Hey there,

Want to get more replies to your cold emails? Try embedding a personalized video. This 5-step process does wonders (especially for cold emails).

1. Pitch the video

Don’t include your video in the first email. Instead, add a call-to-action at the end of your initial email to ask permission to send the video:

“I recorded a quick video explaining how [Their Company] could [Benefit]. Mind if I share it with you here?”

This way:

  • People are more likely to watch your video (since they’ve asked for it).
  • You don’t have to waste time making videos for people who are not interested.

2. Create the video

Use Loom to create a 3-minute personalized video. Record yourself talking about small tweaks your recipient could make to get better results:

“Hey [Their Name], my name is [Your Name], and I’m [Your Job Title] at [Your Company]. After taking a look at your [Relevant Area], I’ve found 3 things that you can change to get more [Benefit].”

This way:

  • You give them value (this triggers reciprocity).
  • You demonstrate your expertise.

3. Embed the video

Don’t just add a link to your video. Instead, use Mailmeteor’s new embed feature to insert a clickable thumbnail into your email:

This way:

  • You catch their attention.
  • You get more clicks on your video.

4. End with a strong CTA

Don’t leave them guessing. Make the next steps (very) obvious. To do so, close your video with a specific call-to-action:

“If you found these tips valuable, I’d love to discuss how we can help you implement them. I have openings tomorrow and Thursday. Does 11 AM (PST) work for you on either day? Feel free to book a call using the link in my email.”

This way:

  • You provide clear, easy, and actionable next steps.
  • You offer them a choice between two specific dates, shifting their focus from “yes or no” to “which day works best.”

5. Follow-up

Didn’t get a reply? Most video making tools have tracking features. Use this data to send personalized follow-ups and prompt a response:

“Have you tried the strategy I mentioned at 1:45? How did it work? If you have any questions, I’m free tomorrow at 3 PM for a quick chat.”

This way:

  • You can make sure that your recipient watched the video.
  • Your email campaign generates more replies (and more business).

That’s it for today. Got any questions? Hit reply and let me know :)

Happy sending, Laura
