Sending from a different email address is now easier than ever

- Published: - 3 minutes read

Since day one, you’ve been able to send emails from a different email address in Mailmeteor. But to be totally honest, it was a bit cumbersome. Today, we’re making this really easy.

You might have seen that there’s a new “Senders” tab in your account profile. That’s our new way to let you configure multiple sending email addresses, so that you can send from your work account, your personal account, or a colleague’s account, all within the same account.

What is a sender exactly?

Senders are a full replacement of our alias feature. While aliases have served very well for a long time, it was time to make it easier and better to use. That means if you’ve used aliases before, you’ll get used to senders in no time:

Selecting a sender from the dropdown menu in Mailmeteor Dashboard

In fact, while that might sound boring, not much as changed for you. All your aliases have been migrated to our new senders architecture, so you won’t lose time doing that. And you can select a sender, just like you selected an alias.

Behind the scenes, lots of changed though. The senders is a full rewrite of our sending architecture to support even more use cases.

Doing it all, under the same account

What’s really exciting about this new feature is that now you can sign in to Mailmeteor once and send emails from different accounts such as your work account, your personal account or a colleague’s account.

You can even Sign in with Google and send emails using Outlook. Everything is much easier to use now:

Enabling different email service providers under the same sending email address

Senders are also a good fit for freelancers, teams and agencies that need to send emails for their clients. It’s easy to configure and works reliably from one Mailmeteor account, no switching needed.

Available everywhere

Senders are already available for all campaigns sent from the Mailmeteor Dashboard, Mailmeteor for Sheets, and Mailmeteor for Docs. It is expected to land in Mailmeteor for Gmail in the next few days.

We updated our documentation so that you can get started with senders immediately. On a side note, the alias feature will be deprecated as soon as Senders is available everywhere. Thankfully, our Gmail alias checker will remain, but you probably won’t need it anymore 😇

Regarding pricing, senders are available starting from the Premium plan at no extra cost. Just like with aliases, you get:

  • Up to 3 senders for Premium users
  • Up to 5 senders for Pro users.

That means you can send from 5 different accounts with only one subscription, saving you lots of time and money! If you haven’t taken the leap yet, that’s a very good time to upgrade.

We’re also working toward letting you configure even more senders within your account. Let us know if you’d like to be among the first to do it.
