Hey there,

Imagine you’re sending 1,000 emails.

You could blast them all out in 1 minute (like a speedy hare 🐰), or you could spread them over 10 hours (like a steady tortoise 🐢).

In marketing, the “slow and steady” approach is called email throttling. And it’s a complete game-changer.

What is email throttling?

1️⃣ Instead of sending all emails at once, you space them out.

2️⃣ You might send one email every 30 seconds, or every 2 minutes.

3️⃣ This continues until all your emails are sent.

Now, you might be thinking, “But won’t this take longer?” Yes, but that’s the point!

Here’s why it’s worth it:

It mimics human behavior: Email providers are suspicious of sudden large blasts. Throttling makes your sending pattern look more natural.

Replicate a "normal" sending activity

It’s kinder to servers: Your email service will thank you for not overloading their systems (and be less likely to flag you as a spammer).

It boosts deliverability: Slower sends = higher chance of reaching the inbox, not the spam folder.

How to implement throttling?

1️⃣ Create a new Mailmeteor campaign.

2️⃣ Click Autopilot.

3️⃣ Set a delay between emails.

Add delay between emails with Mailmeteor's Autopilot feature

The longer you space out each email, the slower your campaign might move, but the payoff is worth it – your deliverability will soar.

Happy sending, Laura
