Questions & answers about AI Summarizer
Everything you need to know about summarizing text with AI.
Is AI Summarizer really free?
Yes, it’s 100% free. No signup, no trial, no credit card. Mailmeteor builds free tools like this one because small utilities shouldn’t be locked behind a paywall.
How does it work?
Paste your text into the box, click “Summarize”, and a large language model reads the content and returns the key points in a few seconds. You can then translate the summary into another language or copy it to your clipboard.
What can I summarize?
Anything you can paste as text — articles, reports, meeting notes, emails, research papers, book chapters, transcripts, long threads. For PDFs, webpages, YouTube videos, or emails specifically, we have dedicated tools linked above.
Do you store my text or the summaries?
No. We don’t keep your input or the generated summary on our servers. Your text is sent to OpenAI to produce the summary, then discarded on our side. For the full details, see Mailmeteor’s Privacy Policy.
Should I paste confidential or sensitive text?
We’d advise against it. Even though we don’t store anything, your text is processed by OpenAI’s API. For anything under NDA, medical records, legal matters, or confidential business information, check your organization’s data-handling policy first.
How accurate are the summaries?
For most content, summaries are clear and faithful to the source. But AI can miss a nuance, drop a qualifier, or flatten an argument. If accuracy matters — legal text, technical specs, financial numbers — read the original to verify before acting on the summary.
Can I summarize text written in another language?
Yes. The tool handles most major languages, and you can also translate the summary into a language different from the source using the language selector above the result.
Is there a length limit?
You can summarize most standard documents in one go, including long articles and multi-page reports. For very long inputs (a full book, for example), split the text into chapters or sections and summarize them one at a time.
How is this different from just asking ChatGPT?
Under the hood we use a similar AI model, but this tool is purpose-built for one job — summarizing. No prompt to write, no account to create, no context window to manage. If you want a general-purpose assistant, use ChatGPT. If you just want a summary, this is faster.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It runs in your browser on any device — desktop, tablet, or phone. Nothing to download, nothing to configure.
